Bet Builder Bookies – Raise Your Game with Customised Wagers
The concept of building a bet is one of the most recent phenomena in betting, and it’s available at many outlets. Some sportsbooks claim it as an exclusive but, in reality, it’s possible to find dozens of bet builder bookies online.
Essentially, players are creating their own multiple bet using a range of markets for a particular event. It’s more commonly used in football matches but, as we are about to see, it’s possible to devise bets on many sports.

What’s the System and Strategy behind a Bet Builder?
So, what is a bet builder? Perhaps the best way to explain this is to offer an example. Let’s say that Liverpool are about to play Manchester City in an important Premier League match and, for a game of this magnitude, the bookmakers have listed many hundreds of side markets.
The bettor would then choose their preferred option from the list of bet builder bookies before compiling their own multiple. Using that Liverpool v Manchester City game as an example, we want to take Manchester City to win, Both Teams to Score, Raheem Sterling to score at any time in 90 minutes and Over 3.5 goals to come in.
While it’s a perfectly valid multiple, that isn’t the type of bet that a bookmaker would typically list on their schedules. When you consider that there are usually more than one hundred markets for any big football match around the world, it simply isn’t possible for bet builder bookies to list every single multiple that can be devised.
Therefore, they pass the task over to the customer, and that’s why the system is called a bet builder. If you take it up, you are literally building your own bet to stake on.
In most instances, there will be a simple case of just adding those multiple selections to your bet slip. The sportsbook will do their calculations and show you the combined odds, and you then choose the amount that you want to bet before confirming.
In the early days of bet builder, customers had to do those calculations before getting in touch via customer services. Odds would then be calculated, and the customer would need to decide whether or not they wanted to follow things up.
That practice may still apply to certain bet builder bookies, so you’ll just need to be aware of that. Whatever happens, the process will be a simple one to follow.
Other points to note include the fact that it may be possible to compile multiple bets on other sports. For example, in a tennis match, you may want to pick Roger Federer to win, the match to include Over 3.5 sets and Novak Djokovic to win the first set.
The practice is, however, more commonly used in football. The majority of players tend to build their bets in the ante-post markets, but it’s also possible to use the system in the live markets. Other options, including cashout, should also be up for grabs.
Bet Builder Tips, Formulas and Strategies
As a general rule, formulas such as Martingale, Paroli and Reverse Martingale are not used in conjunction with multiple bets. With those types of strategies, the process works much better when things are kept as simple as possible, so we really want single bets to be used.
So, as part of our bet builder tips, we would advise against this but, if you are determined to find a formula to attach to bet builder stakes, it is possible to do so. We’ll show some examples and, to maintain that level of simplicity, we’ll use the martingale formula. Full details of all these strategies are to be found elsewhere on this site, but the process here involves doubling our stakes until a winning bet can be landed.

Here Are Some Examples
So, for this example, we’ll assume that you’ve done your own research or that you’ve found some football bet builder tips, and you’re taking the following multi. In a game between Manchester United and Chelsea, you want to stake on United to win, Marcus Rashford to score anytime, Both Teams to Score and Over 3.5 goals.
We won’t keep repeating that list but remember that this is the option that we use throughout the following three examples. The odds that we will use are 2/1, which will be on the low side, but this is just an example to show how bet builder might work within a formula.
Example One:
You Bet | Bet | Profit |
£10 at 2/1 | Wins - Returns = £30 | £20 |
Example Two:
You Bet | Bet | Profit |
£10 at 2/1 | Loses and Stake Forfeited | - |
£20 at 2/1 | Bet Wins - returns = £60 | £30 |
Example Three:
You Bet | Bet | Profit |
£10 at 2/1 | Loses and Stake Forfeited | - |
£20 at 2/1 | Loses and Stake Forfeited | - |
£40 at 2/1 | Loses and Stake Forfeited | - |
£80 at 2/1 | Loses and Stake Forfeited | - |
£160 at 2/1 | Loses and Stake Forfeited | - |
£320 at 2/1 | Bet Wins: Returns = £960 | £330 |
In theory, this would eventually work using Martingale or another formula, so why wouldn’t we suggest taking this option as part of our football bet builder tips? The potential problem is that a multiple increases our exposure, and it only needs one of the four options included in this example to fail, and our stake will be lost.
The bet builder selections may fall in eventually but, with your stake being doubled each time, there is a greater chance that your bankroll may be wiped out. In summary, it’s possible to attach a formula, but it’s better to use Martingale and others on a single bet.
Therefore, it’s better to use bet builder in isolation, but the choice is yours. Above all, this is an innovative and flexible approach to betting, which puts the customer in charge of their selections so, if you are new to the concept, you can easily test it with a small stake.
