What an amazing season this is turning out to be, and it’s only December!
Instead of the usual scenario, wondering who is going to claim the Premier League title between Man City and Arsenal, we now have Liverpool and Chelsea calling the shots, never mind the likes of Forest, Fulham and Villa sniffing around in the top six positions.
Tottenham have had a slow start, but going four goals up within the first 25 minutes against Southampton on Sunday proves that Big Ange Postecoglou has now got his team firing on all cylinders.
Most punters had Liverpool nailed on for a home win against Fulham at the weekend, but after a first-half red card for the impressive Andy Robertson, they were lucky to grab an equaliser late on and walk away with a draw from the match.
Odds and Predictions
Looking at the odds for this match, we believe the football betting sites are a bit tight on the odds for Liverpool’s win, but we’re not complaining, as this means that the odds on Spurs are priced more to our advantage.
The price on a Liverpool win is 1.75, Tottenham is 4.33, and the odds on the draw are 4.0.
There’s no getting away from the fact that Liverpool can score goals for fun, but Tottenham will be up for this match, as 3 points would see them shoot up the table.
Bearing that in mind, we believe that a draw at 4.0 is the most likely outcome for this match, and for those who are partial to a correct score bet, 2 – 2 at odds of 11.0 looks like a bet that could pay dividends.
We are also interested in the Double Chance market and in particular, ‘Tottenham or Draw’ at odds of 2.0, a very nice bet in our opinion.
Comparison and Statistics
Tottenham and Liverpool have played each other head-to-head 183 times in their history across all competitions.
Liverpool has won 90 of these H2H matches, while Tottenham’s 49 and 44 matches have ended in a draw.
In recent matches, Liverpool have had the upper hand, winning three, losing one and drawing one.

Expected Line Ups
Tottenham are missing a number of their top players, including Romero, Richarlison, Bissouma and Davies, but as always in football, this gives the players who are waiting on the sidelines the opportunity to prove their worth.
Special mention must be made to James Maddison, who scored a wonderful second goal against Southampton, which was the icing on the cake of a great performance from the England international.
For Liverpool, Robertson’s sending-off was harsh against Fulham, but his one-match suspension will be used in the midweek EFL cup game against Southampton so that he will be available for selection for this match.
Tottenham Hotspur (4-2-3-1): Forster; Porro, Dragusin, Gray, Udogie; Skipp, Sarr, Kulusevski, Maddison, Johnson; Son.
Liverpool (4-3-3): Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Gomez, Van Dijk, Robertson; Mac Allister, Szoboszlai, Jones; Salah, Nunez, Diaz.
How Will the Season Pan Out
Tottenham must be aiming for a top-six finish this season. They have the squad in place to achieve this, and it will be a huge disappointment to their fans if they finish below Arsenal yet again!
As for Liverpool, the Premier title is theirs to lose, they definitely can’t afford any more slip-ups like the Fulham match, and they must be worried about Chelsea, who are looking like the team to beat at the moment.
