Even though Arsenal and Chelsea are both in the top four of the Premier League table, this season must be regarded as a disappointing one for both teams. With ten games remaining, the aim will be to cement their positions and qualify for the Champions League next season.

Arsenal only managed a draw against an underperforming Man Utd side at the weekend, and despite a dominant first-half performance against relegation certs Leicester, Chelsea scraped home with a 1 – 0 victory.

To be fair, both Man Utd and Leicester played well on the day, but it was Chelsea who impressed the most. “Cold” Palmer looked as dangerous as ever, even though he did miss a first-half penalty for the hosts.

Odds and Predictions

Looking at the odds for this match, we believe that the football betting sites have underestimated Chelsea for a number of reasons. From the game at the weekend, Arsenal looked like a team who have accepted the inevitable (that Liverpool will easily finish on top of the Premier league).

Add to the fact that this is a local derby, and Chelsea needs the three points to stay ahead of the chasing pack. We think that the odds on a Chelsea victory at 4.33 is very generous.

The odds on an Arsenal win is 1.80 and the price for the draw is 3.70.

With that in mind, the first of our tips is based on the correct score. We think that this will likely be a closely fought match, and whilst the odds on Chelsea do represent great value. The most likely result will be a draw in a game with plenty of goals. The odds on a scoreline of 2 – 2 is 17.0. We would recommend a small wager on that outcome.

For the last one of our predictions, we are going to play safe and recommend a bet on the “Double Chance” market, Chelsea, to win or draw.

Odds of 1.95 for this outcome aren’t bad at all and that is where our money will be going.

Expected Line Ups

There is no getting away from the fact that Arsenal have suffered with injuries to key players, but they were disappointing against Man Utd; Martin Ødegaard and Declan Rice were impressive, but that cutting edge up front just wasn’t there.

For Chelsea, Cole Palmer put in his usual excellent performance against Leicester. Still, it was Marc Cucurella who impressed us the most, scoring yet again from midfield – he definitely adds another dimension to Chelsea when going forward.

Arsenal (4-3-3): David Raya; Jurrien Timber, William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhães, Riccardo Calafiori; Declan Rice, Martin Ødegaard, Thomas Partey; Leandro Trossard, Ethan Nwaneri, Mikel Merino.

Chelsea (4-2-3-1): Robert Sánchez; Wesley Fofana, Tosin Adarabioyo, Levi Colwill, Marc Cucurella; Moises Caicedo, Enzo Fernández (c); Jadon Sancho, Cole Palmer, Christopher Nkunku; Pedro Neto.

How Will the Season Pan Out

We think it’s likely that these two teams will finish the season in exactly the same position that they are now.

Arsenal should hold on to second in the table, but they shouldn’t be complacent. We thought that Forest would fall away at some point, but after their victory against Man City on Saturday, Chelsea will struggle to knock them off the third spot.

So, to sum up, Champions League qualification must be the goal of both of these teams, and that is not a given, especially if the likes of Forest, Man City, Brighton, Villa, Newcastle and even Bournemouth have anything to do with it.
