The Euro ‘24 Tournament is well and truly underway and as this is the second game for each of these teams, it would be fair to say that we have got more to work on regarding form, or does it?
Germany hammered Scotland 5 – 1 in the opener (Scotland were lucky to get their goal), but were Germany so dominant because they were so good or was the result mainly due to Scotland being absolutely awful?
The same thing goes for Hungary, who got beaten 3 – 1 by Switzerland. Was that because they were so poor or because Switzerland (one of our pre-tournament fancies) were so good?
Odds and Predictions
After watching both of the opening games, we believe that a German victory in this encounter with Hungary is a nailed-on win for the hosts and it looks like the bookies agree with us, but we have a couple of other tips that you might find interesting.
The odds for the German win are 1.27 and as we believe they will win convincingly, we are going for a scoreline of 4 – 0 at odds of 13.0.
We’ve also put together a nice little bet builder which should give us a run for our money – ‘Jamal Musiala to score at any time’ (wasn’t he so impressive against Scotland?), ‘over 3 goals’ and ‘over 7 corners.’
This bet concludes our predictions and with odds of 6.0, we will go into this game quietly confident.
Comparison and Statistics from Past Meetings between the Teams
Germany and Hungary have faced each other head-to-head, 37 times in their footballing history which is quite astonishing when you think about it.
Out of these matches, Germany has won 13 times, Hungary has won 12 times, and 12 matches have ended in a draw.
Here are the last 5 H2H matches they have played against each other.

Expected Line Ups
A strong-looking line-up for Germany, as you would expect.
Toni Kroos, playing his last match for Germany and obviously wants to go out on a high, and didn’t Jamal Musiala and Leroy Sané look good against Scotland?
Hungary looked better in the second half against Switzerland, so it wouldn’t be a surprise to see their manager, Marco Rossi, having something up his sleeve for this must-win match for them.
Germany (3-4-3): Manuel Neuer; Matthias Ginter, Mats Hummels, Antonio Rüdiger; Joshua Kimmich, Ilkay Gündogan, Toni Kroos, Robin Gosens; Kai Havertz, Jamal Musiala, Leroy Sané.
Hungary (3-5-2): Péter Gulácsi; Endre Botka, Willi Orbán, Attila Szalai; Loic Négo, László Kleinheisler, András Schäfer, Attila Fiola; Nemanja Nikolić, Roland Sallai.
How Far Will These Teams Progress in the Tournament?
Now that we have had the chance to see both of these teams in action, it is looking highly unlikely that Hungary will qualify from the group stages.
As for Germany, it will be interesting to see how they get on against Hungary, who should put up much more of a fight than the Scottish.
We can still see them reaching the semi-finals in Euro24, but it is the knock out stages when the pressure will be on for them.
